Mixed Plate Comics- Week of 11.24.10
11:36 PM
We are all recovered from the turkey coma / Black Friday madness yeah?! In a Holiday week that means no new comics till Thursday-- about time we got off our okole and drop our pickups/revs from...last week!! Yes, another not late edition-- Secret Avengers #7 / Fantastic Four #585 / Batwoman #0 / Secret Warriors #22 / Batman and Robin #17 / Justice League: Generation Lost #14 / Teen Titans #89 / Black Widow #8 / Action Comics #895 / Gotham City Sirens #17...and the choice reads are:
5 Action Comics #895 Paul Cornell & Pete Woods
Lex's quest to unlock and harness the power of the Black Rings continue with a nice time-jump(quite the new trend with DC books of late yeah) through various meeting with the immortal Vandal Savage. Savage has a premonition that Lex has some connection to bringing him more power-- so we see how in some
weird way how he continually invites Luthor over for some bromance-time back at his palace (sounds gay but shit is funny) and gets shot down by our anti-hero.
Eventually, Vandal gets tired of waiting for Luthor to crumble and takes over Lois-bot, his power-suit and Lex-Corp to push his manifest destiny. As usual, Lex plans ahead and calls in the Secret Six. Cornell and Woods are one of my top, new creative duos with this classic run in Action Comics.
4 Fantastic Four #585 Jonathan Hickman & Steve Epting
Galactus is not amused by the idea of being offed by Reed Richards even if it is in some different time-line. With the Silver Surfer they bring Mr. Fantastic along in a mission to ensure no such thing will take place here-- and some interesting tidbits are passed on between them-- like how Galactus is fears Reed's son, Frankin, who has been somehow unlocked of his infinite powers.
Meanwhile, Sue is helping with negotiations for territory in the sea where she is reunited with her admirer the Submariner. Namor uses the Invisible Girl as a distraction and axes (not the male bodyspray) the Old King, hailing Imperious Rex fools!!!!
Okay that sounded more gangsta when Namor said it(minus the fools part). Hickman has the stage set for the end of the first family of Marvel. Interesting how my two fave House of Ideas titles -- Daredevil and Fantastic Four is ending. Poo.
3 Teen Titans #89 J.T. Krul & Nicola Scott
The dynamic of this new team is so fun with the inclusion of Damian. We get to see the offspring of Deathstroke and Batman go at it and it brings a conflict within the team that seems to bring everyone together closer.
Krul and Scott make this book move at a fast, fresh pace and balances out facetime between the seven teen heroes. In a conflict with a suped up, confused kid-- Raven helps to calm and soothe the sap and when they return from teleportation, dumbass Damian messes everything up. It's great to see how different this new Robin is characterized among good friends of Tim Drake (Red Robin) and outside of the shadow from the Batman.
2 Batwoman #0 J.H. Williams / W. Haden Blackman & Amy Reeder
The panels and art is as you expect-- a glorious mind-fuck. Amy Reeder's style is well served in more of the civilian coverage of Bats-stalking of Kate Kane, but I felt a bit ripped off with this reorientation to who is the Batwoman.
Yeah, yeah I am happy we all get to jump back into her dark, magnificient, girl-on-girl world...sure this is appropriately titled #0 and for that you don't get the 1 spot.
It seems that Batwoman will stand on her own from the Batman Inc. or at least I hope so for now-- to just see her get her own, much needed hype. Can't wait to be served up to more, unadulterated Batwoman in February.
Bring it Williams!!
1 Justice League Generation Lost #14 Judd Winick & Aaron Lopresti
Winck and Lopresti are bringing us to so many places with the disrespected, long-forgotten JLI. This ish brings us to yet another post-apocalyptic future with a Justice League that has Damian Wayne as the Batman and Red Hood as his Robin. Cool. Giant OMACs and more with this timewarped battle for humanity thanks to Captain Atom nuking himself out of time. Such a great series gets even better.

Back to the Future Cover O' the Day- "Is This My Foe?"
11:14 PM
Aquaman #42
National Comics (DC), December 1968
Writer: Steve Skeates Artist: Nick Cardy
It was Black Friday and in a badass sale that involved vintage titles such as this at 50% off (thx to Illusive Comics!), I couldn't help but pick this one up not only for the incredible cover that even today is on the level-- but also for the fact that Black Manta just kicks major domo booty!! In Brightest Day, Black Manta is just one of the many Silver Age characters that
This scene where Manta confronts who we know as the new "Aqualad," reaks of something all so familiar and if you don't know by now-- spoiler alert!!!
Aqualad will soon find out that Black Manta is actually his true father but not quite in the classic fashion that to this day-- is the biggest WTF moment in fanboy history. You can follow the in dark return of
Black Manta in Brightest Day and hopefully in the new DC Animation- Young Justice-- that stars Aqualad as the team leader.Fun Fact: Black Manta is really a Black man unlike Darth Vader. Really.

toy-collectwhore: Sinestro Corps Batman
10:03 PM
Alright, so this is me finally coming out of the closet publicly saying...yes, I still play with toys. Oh gawd that was some major burden and weight off my shoulders so since we are all honest with one another-- why not get into what is the first installment of many revs I will be busting on my toys. No. You are in the wrong place if you think this is for d*ck rings or dildos so please, move on.
If you frequent dope spots like The Fwoosh, Articulated Discussion or are just an old-school cat reminiscing on your O.G Transformers, Voltron or G.I.Joes..well this is the spot for you. So...my whole approach on reviewing is based on three things:
#1 Artistic Integrity: Meaning how well does this sculpt interpret the original art/concept from the source material?
#2 Fun Factor: Out of the box, what you got? Stiff articulation, serious poser or wot?!
#3 Fo-reals brah: This is where we round it all up and connect on relevance, significance and just about anything else that comes to mind on dakine.
Artistic Integrity: The look of the figure is less of an authentic rendition from when Bats was selected as a Sinestro Corps Lantern back in Green Lantern #17, but this is more of a what if Batman was not able to fight off the bling and took on the mantle as Yellow Lantern of Sector 2814. As Sinestro demands it, there are very few deviations from standard Sinestro Corps fatigues and the figure reflects that. I appreciate the scowl that gives Sinestro Corps Batman just the look of villainy to strike fear in his enemies hearts.
3 out of 5 shakas
Fun Factor: The Four Horsemen, master craftsman of Mattel are well-known on balancing posability with artistic interpretation when making their sculpts. And though it is a bit tough posing Sinestro Corps Bats in certain ways-- mainly cause of the weight of the cape-- you got max points of articulation and smooth joints like most DCUC pieces. The bat-hook construct is a nice add, but would have been cooler as actual bats as it was envisioned by Ivan Reis.
4 out of 5 shakas
Fo-reals brah: When DC Universe Classic Wave 15 came out, I knew that Raven would be an automatic buy-- as for Sinestro Corps Batman-- it wasn't until I saw it at a shop and thought, you know that is a really dope fig! Sure, like the Green Lantern Batman & Black Lantern Batman released by DC Direct -- they only represent a quick fanboy moment where Bats is donned with the power ring, but being Batman is easily the most fearsome of DCU heroes-- having a Sinestro Corps Batman toy makes so much sense.
Admit it, he fits right in with the rest of the Sinestro Corps yeah?! This fig is a sold pickup for any of you posers out there and is given a total fig review score of

Missed Connections- Batman Inc. / Batman: The Brave and the Bold
1:45 PM
With all the excitement and interest C&D peeps have had in Batman the Return and Batman Inc. last week-- I decided to wax philosophic on things I know on the background of Morrison's concepts-- that for many who have been reading and following story threads, can still be a bit confusing. First, we know that Morrison is a big fan of the Batman mythos, especially the obscure stories of the 50's thru the 70's that in his own words are like psychedelic trips gone bad. Okay that sounds about right. And we have seen some of his
interpretations of such musings like Zur-En-Arrh in the Batman R.I.P. arc to the Club of Heroes/International Batmen in one of the most compelling reads of his works to date in Batman #667-669 that shines the masterful visuals of J.H. Williams III.
In each of these stories Morrison ties together complex, mutli-faceted content that showcases the Dark Knight's ability to be a tale that can effectively be told through any medium whether cosmic, pulp-noir, horror, sci-fi and be accepted (not to say we all quite understand it all) by a mainstream audience.
I recall Morrison and David Finch (who will be busting writer/art duties in the forthcoming Dark Knight book) at SDCC talking story on the key influences of Batman's new direction and cited how the Batman Family-- features some of the greatest of DC's cast of characters and are the more popular and easily recognizable heroes/villains by fans of all ages.
On top of that another one of Morrison's key influences for Batman Inc.-- Batman: The Brave and the Bold animated series-- you have the whole of the DCU on board to team-up with the timeless, legendary hero.
As I was watching a re-run of the two-part episode of The Starro Invasion- you can count off to yourself at least 20+ DCU characters-- Booster Gold, Guy Gardner, Kilowog, Tomar-Re, Captain Marvel, Atom, Fire, Huntress, Black Lightning, Hawkman, Firestorm and so on.
I can see how many of the die-hard Batman fans are to say the least turned-off by what is perceived as a capitalist, Tony Stark-onian approach to franchising out the Batman brand of justice through the world, but with nearly 10 books that bear the Batman logo-- I am sure we can be fulfilled by what we perceive as Batman canon in one of them.
And again, how can we not get excited about this approach on Batman that we have not yet experienced, by Morrison no-less!!?? With the many directions and character inventory avail for Batman Incorporated, I can't see how and why heads wouldn't want to jump on it.

Mixed Plate Comics- Week of 11.17.10
11:50 AM
With the Holidays here-- we will be feasting, sleeping, shopping, talking story and everything else we do with friends and fam-- but let's not forget about all the reading!! In a week dominated by the Return of the Batman, this is how I spent my time chilling on the train, posting on the couch and just geeking out in the man-cave... Green Lantern Corps #54 / The Avengers #7 / Batman #704 / Brightest Day #14 / Superman/Batman #78 / Justice League of America #51 / Power Girl #18 / The Flash #6 / Green Lantern #59 / Batman Incorporated #1 / Batman the Return #1 ..and the Fab 5 picks:
5 Power Girl #18 Judd Winick & Sami Basri
Our main mama continues in her hot mess by going from battling Crash-- the big, purple, Parasite-looking baddie to some dood in a spacesuit that ends up being.. a woo-man!!
And it's not just any chick, it is a darker version of PG! This ish seems to be like a comic version of Superman 2, when Supes faces his own doppelganger. But let's face it, cat-fights are way better than any MMA-grappling match and this isn't just any girl-brawl, right.
Karen and her clone-- who ends up being just one of many Kryptonian-fakies -- are at a standstill and our regular behind-the-scene baddie, Max Lord makes an appearance only to leave the fight with his two new prized creations. In the end, PG finds herself beaten but equipped with the memory of who Max is, and all of the wrongs he has done her and the rest of the JLA/JSA dirty on. Oh boy, does Lord have bad luck in making the worse of enemies-- and just happen to be women (Wonder-Woman reference).
4 The Flash #6 Geoff Johns & Francis Manapul
Barry fights to the finish of his two-pronged faceoff against the Rogues and a future-cop version of the gang. Though the pacing of the opening salvo has dragged a bit, Johns and Manapul's execute strong with the close and Flash finds himself again, fighting not just his for life-- but his forever endangered wife-- Iris.
As it has been the case of late with Flash tales, the Top is the major thug of the Rogues that finds himself taking Barry on. In one of the more cool visuals of Flash doing his speed thang-- Manapul blends mere blurs of his image within the Tops deadly spin-cycle.
Love that artists are conveying new ways to show the dramatic and real impacts of the speed force. Now on to Flash-Point?? Hmm, haven't seen a meta-dood on a motorcycle in awhile.
3 Green Lantern #59 Geoff Johns & Doug Mahnke
The New Guardians continue their quest of finding the Lantern Entities and in a turn that was somewhat expected-- from foreshadowing of Black Hand being taken away by the Indigo Tribe in the end of Blackest Night-- Indigo 1, a "reborn" Black Hand and the other Indigo Lanterns come into conflict with the rainbow gang.
And the mysterious hooded small person (yes, it's Scar everyone...I think..) comes along to break up the party with none other than the most promiscuous and first Entity to surface-- Parallax! Not, expected was Barry getting the dirty deed of housing the God of Fear.
Things are getting a lot more interesting in the core GL title. Man, how can a title be consistently this good for the last four years?! Two reasons- GEOFF JOHNS.
2 Batman Inc. #1 Grant Morrison & Yanick Paquette
I so love when I am caught off-guard by a surprise like a JH Williams cover to bring in the internationalization of the Batman!!!
Sure, Morrison is taking Batman as a symbol-- far from what it has been known as for many, many years-- but who better than to tell some modernized, innovative Batman stories for the world over, than that genius Glasgowian?!
Why is Bruce Wayne so damn cool as the Batman? Who would you rather partner with, some kid in a elf suit or that very, sexy-fly-mama jamma, purrrr- Selina Kyle baby...okay, I am back.
Very fresh approach at Batman continuing his fight against crime and going global rather than just stayin local in Gotham. Intriguing, stylish and bringing Batman to other parts of the world for the rest of our peeps to enjoy. Liked all the katakana/kanji easter-eggs ; P Otaku-alert!!!!!
1 Batman the Return #1 Grant Morrison & David Finch
Grant Morrison AND David Finch. Nuff said...
ps. yes, that is an image of Oracle potentially coming back as Batgirl...hhwwwaaattt??!!!

if you don't know, now you know- Young Justice
12:03 PM
This Black Friday marks the season premiere of the hottest new DC animated series-- Young Justice-- at 4pm (PST) on the Cartoon Network. After learning more about this animated reboot of the Teen Titans at SDCC, I was intrigued with the concept of experiencing an adaptation that is more in line with real themes from the books like love triangles, issues with authoritative figures and less kiddie-content.
The re-visioning of timelines for the stories should work fine though I would have enjoyed seeing Damian Wayne as Robin and not one but two Batmen. Inclusion of Black Manta's son, Aqualad should make for some interesting new story threads-- especially since he is being slated as the team leader.

New Trailer! Your Highness - Spring 2011
6:15 AM

Once again, the comedy gods appear to come through next year by dropping Your Highness starring Danny McBride, James Franco, Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel. Set in a middle age/fantasy period, McBride plays Thadeous, an arrogant lazy prince along with brother, Fabious ( Franco), set off on an epic journey to save Fabious’ bride (Deschanel) and their father's kingdom. Natalie Portman plays a hot warrior princess who is also the Thadeous’ love interest.
Directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Eastbound and Down) the film is set to be released on April 8, 2011. Props to Ms. Portman for a money medieval thong scene.

New Trailer! Green Lantern - Summer 2011
6:23 PM
So you say that you are not so pumped after watching the ET Green Lantern teaser from last Friday huh? Well...I can't say that the sequencing and initial low-quality res did it any justice. But after some progressive-high-temporal Apple HD treatment and well an additional 2 minutes worth of footage-- you gotta love it yeah?!
Ryan Reynolds as a young Hal seems like a perfect fit to the testosterone, fly-boy, GL recruit that is a far contrast to the more seasoned, heroic veteran that Jordan has grown into in the world of DC comics. Blake Lively appears to be decent for the mere eye-candy role that we all know she is being scripted for. Tomar-re, Sinestro and Kilowog floating around OA gave me goosebumps in their CG-laden debuts.
And Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond looks straight scary. So dope to have such strong actors to help balance the heavy-lifting this-- let's speak real-- new WB film franchise will be burdened with in the absence of the Harry Potter films. Dope inclusion of Hal's classic fist-construct and gotta say it's a bummer Prop 19 didn't roll through cause you know that those Green Lantern Bongs woulda been a hit!
I can't wait to see more and more of the concept art and footage as it is released, but as a die-hard Geoff Johns' era- Green Lantern head I can say that this trailer looks to deliver a finished product on June 17th that meets with what has become a fanatical interest in everything with the GL-logo.
I know you want to watch this over and over again, like I did so do yourself a favor and download it in HD and throw it on your phone so you can make all your friends jealous of your mad knowledge of all that is OA.

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax...he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

The Surf world was robbed of one of the most decorated and gifted riders of the sport last month along with a native son to Kauai, Andy Irons. At the young age of 32, Irons had supplanted himself as a 3-time World Champion and was considered by many of surf culture as a spirited competitor, brother and true friend.
Here is a picture taken from my cousin's wedding-- Jared pictured with Andy and his brother Bruce.
And another shot taken directly from the Memorial yesterday in Kauai.
Take in some of the beautiful footage of the memorial that was attended by over a thousand friends led by his brother at Hanalei Bay -- ANDY IRONS: A LIFE CELEBRATED, NOV. 14, 2010

Mixed Plate Comics- Week of 11.10.10
9:57 AM
Whaddup C&D fam!! Been a slammed mid-October through now so thanks for keeping tuned into this column that has been on hiatus. Alright lets jump into our week in books: Birds of Prey #6 / Titans #29 / Batgirl #15 / Booster Gold #38 / Ultimate Thor #2 / Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors #4 / Batman: Return of Bruce Wayne #6 / R.E.B.E.L.S. #22 / Justice League: Generation Lost.
5 Justice League: Generation Lost #13 Judd Winick & Joe Bennett
The standoff between super-soldiers, Captain Atom and Magog comes to an end. Max Lord elevates his game by taking out Magog, framing Cap Atom as the murderer and releasing himself from the grips of the White Lantern all in one fail swoop.
With Captain Atom again time-displaced, the JLI will be down with one of their major powerhouses, the public will probably demand justice for Magog's death-- forcing other heroes to make things worse for Booster and the gang-- as Lord furthers his plans in making the world safe.
Was never a fan of Magog so not tripping about him being offed and gotta say that the way in which Lord did em, only pushes him deeper in the elite echelon of villains with Luthor, Joker, Deathstroke and Ra's.
4 Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne #6 Grant Morrison & Lee Garbett
Morrison's grand finale in bringing back The muthaeffing Batman was all that you could expect- kinda confusing, all-out action and in the end-- the return of Bruce to his symbolic creation. Garbett who I have followed faithfully through his run on Batgirl, makes this issue as good as it should be though again, it just sucks that the timing of all the Bat books could have been released appropriately.
That aside, seeing Batman in his futurist-archive tech was sick and seeing how easily he took out the JLA kinda made me think how that roster is not so popular with DC readers.
I appreciated how it took Wonder-Woman to restore Bruce from his Omega bomb state and was cool that Morrison plugged the connection of the new Time-Masters though, even that read has yet to conclude. With Batman's return I will start enjoying Red Robin in his less agro-annoying vibe, going back to cool-handed Tim and like everyone else, so ready for the coming of Batman Inc.
3 R.E.B.E.L.S. #22 Tony Bedard & Claude St. Aubin
Rookie GL Karkum and Starfire battle misogynistic Psions to help free the enslaved populace of women. Real dark and twisted shit. With the growing popularity of the Green Lantern brand, it is great to see that themes and mature content of the stories are not being watered down.
Starfire is unleashes her fury cause of close ties to the Psions and the unseemly rookie teaches the DC veteran a thing or two in the perverse ways of some across the galaxy.
Lobo is indeed part of the squad now and more of Vril Dox's smear campaign against the GLC and the Guardians of OA catches on with more planets.
2 Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors #4 Tony Bedard & Fernando Pasarin
Sodam Yat seems to be splintering off from the Green Lanterns--forging his own logo -- to reinforce his cause towards helping people directly rather than just whatever is mandated by the Guardians.
Looks even more the case that there will be some major conflict between the undercurrent of tension with Bleez, Guy, Arisia and Sodam, as the holder of the GL's entity-- Ion-- will look only more convincing as the reason the whole of the Corps have become weaker.
Meanwhile, the Warrrior crew come across one of the Rakkonian mines that is not yet realized to them as the true cause of draining their power battery and we then see just how powerful this sinister, behind the scenes gay-pirate guy is-- turning a bunch of new GLs into his puppets to square off against the Emerald Warriors.
Pasarin continues to show how ill of an artist he is and brings a more real, dark and less-stylized shine than his predessor, Patrick Gleason. And as for Tomasi-- seriously standing neck in neck with Geoff Johns as top GL writer.
1 Ultimate Thor #2 Jonathan Hickman & Carlos Pacheco
Straight-up, I am not a fan of non-continuity stories whether it is labeled Elseworlds, Earth One or Ultimate. On top of that, I haven't picked up a Thor title since Walt Simonson was rocking tales of the Norse God of Thunder in the 90s. With that said, this is one of the best new titles I have jumped on that should come at no surprise as this is a Hickman title afterall, yeah?!
As Hickman fans already know, you get a whole lot of central themes that tug at your nerdary with use of symbols, history/mythology and conspiracy. The stage is set perfectly for Hickman to go cray-cray on remixing the world of Norse gods in whatever way his runes direct him in.
The Thor/Loki dichotomy has never been so compelling to me and rather than taking the easy route of focusing on simple characterizations of good vs. evil-- Ultimate Thor is a story ink-washed in gray. Like one of my other fave Marvel titles -- S.H.I.E.L.D.-- I will be twiddling my thumbs until ish 3 is released next month. Pacheco's work has never looked better.

if you don't know, now you know- Straczynski Calls It Quits on Monthly Comics
1:59 PM
DC Source just announced that legendary creator J. Michael Straczynski will no longer write for their flagship monthly titles-- Superman and Wonder Woman--starting issues #707 and #605 respectively.
It is stated that JMS originally came to DC for the Superman: Earth One project that was just released, sold-out and according to Co-Publisher, Dan Didio was a "success...and couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out". For the whole story in the writers words, JMS states:
Other popular sites are reporting that JMS is leading the move from monthly or pamphlet style books being that the ROI and popularity is dying out, but I argue that good stories will always be supported and I am too looking forward to Phil Hester (Green Arrow, Brave New World)) picking up where things were left with Wonder Woman and as for Superman, that is a book I may take a 1 to 5 year break on.
Looking forward to the sequel for Superman: Earth One and long live the monthly!!!

“I’d originally come to DC to do the Superman Earth One book which, at the time, was top secret so nobody knew about it,” Straczynski said, “and filled out on Brave and the Bold for a while to have fun and get up to speed on the DCU. When I was done with SEO I took on the Superman and Wonder Woman monthlies on the theory that I’d have time to script the full 12 issues before bounding back onto Earth One. But when the huge numbers started coming in on Earth One, and the need to fastrack the next volumes became evident in order to keep the momentum going, I knew there was no way in god’s green earth that I could write that and the monthlies simultaneously. Since DC has had my notes and outlines from day one on both titles, so they’re still my stories, it makes sense to let Chris and Phil keep going from the story beats I’ve set up. I’ll dive in on occasion as needed for important story points. It’s still my story, I’m involved in both books, and they’re going to continue in the direction we set up. I’m looking forward to seeing what Chris and Phil have in store.First off, I am a core JMS fan but have been meh on stories and directions that he has taken major characters to-- like that of Spiderman in "The Other" and more recently with Superman in the "Grounded" arc. On the other hand I have been the biggest fan of his Brave & the Bold run with Jesus Saiz and Trish Mulvihill, along with his controversial revamp of Wonder Woman.

Kirkman is Killing It
8:18 AM
Fresh off Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore's big win of Best Comicbook/OGN for The Walking Dead at the Scream Awards, the golden egg creation in it's small screen iteration has just been given the green light to shoot it's second season. With just two episodes deep-- AMC boasts The Walking Dead as defying all expectations and becoming the most successful premiere in 2010 with over 5.1 million viewers.
Looking at you Frank, with your "yeah- I told you so", when I was hoarding all those Blackest Night books and not picking up what was the zombie-gospel as told by deacon Kirkman. I am now, like many others dropping dead presidents to try and see whats next after the fantabulous second episode-- appropriately titled-- "Guts."
From talks with friends at the shops-- more and more of The Walking Dead trades are flying off the shelves-- just like the crazed spike in sales of Scott Pilgrim books when the movie hit theaters in the Summer. I even caught some rich kid drop a cool 3 bens (trans. $300) on a first print of Walking Dead #1. I was blown away by the transaction only to find that peeps at Ebay are dropping President Clevelands even!!??
Make that paper Kirkman!! Yeah and jump on Invincible while you are at it as it should be the next Kirkman book to hit the small or big-screen in the future.
