SDCC 2010 Edition- Four Horsemen, Mattel and DC are Killing It

7:19 PM

We are now 14 waves deep in the hot mess of a menage trois that is DC, Mattel and them ill-tinkerers known by the figure-world as the Four Horsemen.  And as we can expect with every SDCC we got those oh-so-sought after exclusives.

The last two years have been decent with 3-D garbed Lobo and his mutt in 08, the Wondertwins with Gleek last year-- but 2010 brings us not one but two killer figs that will bring the equivalent of the Apocalypse in long-ass lines to wait in (if you missed the pre-sale voucher- you can get ur Ebay on).

I love that they somehow made ole Plasticman so over-the-top in his ability to go from standard-to-spring-to-luggage mode all in one box--throw in his classic pimp shades for you to rock-- now that is hawt.  The 75th anniversary of DC continues with this commemorative remake of a JLA cover but with actual figs...what the eff??!!!  Both of em will be mine (yes, I am wearing my Avarice power ring right now).

Not hating on DC Direct, but somehow these cats still maintain artistic integrity with vibrant paint, fine mold detail and easily the most points of articulation found in this mofo. You can see from my shelf below there are some major differences between how the Four Horsemen do their thing.

If you plan on being at SDCC with the rest of the cool kids next week, you just gotta cruise through and peep this special panel that will give you in an inside look on how these toy-pimps are dropping their 3 party.  Holler if you see us!
